|The Isidro Bordas S.A. company was founded in 1935 by Mr. Isidro Bordas in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, in order to produce and sell alcoholic beverages of different denominations. The first products were wines (the red wine ”Campeon” and the Muscat ”Gladiador”) and rums, adding shortly thereafter the milk-based eggnog known as ”Ponche Crema de Oro”, a product that, up to this day is the leader in its category.
Within a short period, the company began the automation of its processes and the standardization of its procedures. By 1970 two automatic production lines for wines and liquors were introduced.
In 1986 the company introduced ”Sangria Gitano”, a product that reached great acceptance from customers, and proved to be one of the company’s most famous products.
In the 90’s the company unveiled a new production center for wines located in the outskirts of Santiago. In this new plant, the production processes were automated, and with that, the company ensured its commitment to offer products of international standard to its customers.
In 1997 a new product was release to the market: ”Gitano 18”, a wine with a mature personality while still being very joyful.
Two years later, the company achieved a new milestone with the release of ”Queen’s Legend”, a nationally-produced whisky, made of selected blends from our cellar and Scottish malt.
In 2002, the company, once more, kept its commitment of offering products of the highest quality and introduced the milk-based punch ”Ponche Bordas Premium”, which immediately reached the first position among consumers’ selection.
As a result of globalization, the company has increased its exportations to the United States, Europe and Haiti.
Nowadays, Isidro Bordas S.A. focuses on constant research to come up with new products, in order to satisfy the needs and demands of national and international customers, while maintaining its leadership in the production of liquors and sweet wines in the Dominican market and in exportations to Haiti.
