AROMA WITHOUT WATER
Light & delicate fruity aromas - hints of soft, fresh fruits. A subtle smoky edge develops.
TASTE WITHOUT WATER
Mouth warming with a distinctive peaty note present, hints of charred oak and a sweet, cream toffee finish.
AROMA WITH WATER
Fresh aromas with a floral, perfumed note. Some green fruitiness arrives with a touch of cut grass. The sweet, toffee aromas continue.
TASTE WITH WATER
The smokiness is now more evident but surrounded by a smooth vanilla sweetness. Some roasted malt and oak notes linger in the background.
Ultimate Beverage Challenge 92 points - Smokey caramel and stone fruit aromas interplay on the nose. In the mouth there is sea salt, intense clove and cinnamon, and light caramel. On the finish there is dark toffee and tobacco leaf. Leathery in texture, this is a powerful whisky. (Apr 2014)
The whole process ’ raw ingredients, distillation, maturation and bottling ’ is certified to the rigorous standards set by the UK Soil Association. The whisky is matured in virgin American oak casks from environmentally managed forests. This limited edition bottling of Benromach Organic is made using the finest Scottish organic barley, dried using peat smoke, to produce an organic Speyside Single Malt which displays a distinctly smoky character.
|Our distillery – Speyside’s smallest - is located on the outskirts of the ancient market town of Forres, in north-east Scotland. Just two experienced distillers passionately hand-craft Benromach using the finest Scottish barley and the purest spring water from the nearby Romach Hills. They personally ensure that only the highest quality spirit is filled into sturdy oak casks before being left to mature at Benromach for many years. Only when it has matured to our highest quality standards do we bottle it and proudly label it – Benromach Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
We adopt a very simple approach to creating our Single Malts - each part of the art of whisky making impacts on the final product. Like a jigsaw, each part of the whisky making process contributes to the final quality product.
Benromach Distillery is owned a managed by Gordon & MacPhail - a family business for over 100 years.
