Owner/Winemaker Ross Trimboli is the namesake of one of the most notorious gangsters in Australia. For some reason Ross says he always gets his phone calls returned very quickly! Unlike the other one, our Ross became one of the foremost potato farmers in the country but he grew obsessed with grapes and winemaking. He purchased grapes in many regions including Baroota, The Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale & the Barossa, all with the idea of making the best wine possible. Ross’ newest is his pride and joy, a vineyard on Kangaroo Island. He gets so excited when talking about this site. The wines I tasted from Kangaroo Island vineyard in 2005 were some of the most exciting material from the vintage. Ross is so passionate about his wines he says “I’ll continue to wear patched underpants for as long as I have to in order to put everything into these wines”.
