Charles Cimicky Wines bills itself as the ’red specialists’ , producing rich, voluptuous, generous wines with superb balance. Charles’ father built the original winery in the seventies and produced good wines through the eighties. In the early 90’s Charles began to take a keen interest in winemaking and the ’good’ wines started turning into awesome wines--the kind of wines people go nuts over. If you visit the winery today you will see gleaming stainless tanks, spotless floors, and a mega wall of brand new French and American oak.
Now in his late thirties, Charles is one of the most quality driven, meticulous winemakers in South Australia. This attention to detail appears to be paying off- he has won top gold in the Barossa Wine Show the last two years for making the best Shiraz in the Barossa Valley.
